Nem Thu Duc

Nem Thu Duc

Referring to the specialties of Vietnam, it is impossible not to mention spring rolls. This dish is present in three regions, but each region has different recipes and uses of ingredients. Upon talking about the South, one can’t help but mention the Thu Duc village which masters in making Nem chua.

In fact, this is not the name of any particular village in Ho Chi Minh City. It's just a place where many large Nem chua production facilities are located side by side on the streets, forming a large area located in Thu Duc. The old land of Thu Duc included District 2, District 9, and Thu Duc District at that time. Today, if you come to Thu Duc, you can still see that there are many Nem chua factories, working day and night to supply the big market in Saigon. To meet the demands of the surrounding areas, there are times when hundreds of production facilities gather in a long street. Sometimes operating at full capacity but still not enough delivery. It is known that this profession has existed since 1975 and still exists to this day.

The Nem chua here has moderate sourness, natural crunchiness, and rich taste. Its appeal is confirmed through generations of people who have enjoyed this dish. Now this place is in charge of supplying Nem chua for most of the famous eateries in Ho Chi Minh City.
